2008 COMMITTEES
Membership
Responsible for guiding the development and growth of the Chamber membership. Activities include: identifying and contacting potential new members (business and individual); supporting the updating of the directory and membership database; developing and directing new membership drives; delivering new member packets; requesting and presenting discount offers among active members and welcome calls to new members; organizing and coordinating the New Member Mentor program.

Economic Development
Responsible for activities related to growth of businesses in the Anderson Area. Activities include: development and operations of the Neighborhood Business District program; working with Anderson Township on the Beechmont Corridor project; delivering information on the Chamber to all new businesses in the Anderson Area; marketing and promotion of Chamber members; keeping current demographic information available for inquiries; developing and maintaining new business start-up information; identifying possible new businesses and working with Anderson Township and surrounding governmental agencies to bring new businesses into the Anderson Area.

Education/Professional Development
Responsible for all educational and professional development programs and seminars presented by the Chamber. Additionally, this committee is responsible for planninig and coordinating a General Meeting inviting both Chamber members and the community once a year. Activities of this committee also include: organizing and coordinating the Chamber programs of Lunch N' Learn, HR & Employment Law Issues Roundtables and Partners in Education; planning business educational programs, seminars and speakers which involves the selection and contracting of speakers, locations and determination of topics; writing of educational articles for Chamber Notes when needed; and serve as liaison between the Chamber and the Forest Hills School district.

Finance
Responsible for overseeing all financials matters of the Chamber. Activities include: working with the Chamber staff and all committee chairpersons involved to prepare the annual budget of the Chamber; presentation of this budget to the Board of Directors for approval; monitoring of the annual budget; presenting current financial reports at each monthly Chamber meeting; investigating and advising Board of Directors on investment possiblilities; developing and presenting new fundraising plans for the Chamber.

Public Relations/Marketing
Responsible for all activities related to promotion, advertising and public relations of the Chamber as well as monitoring the public image of the Chamber. Activities include: preparation and distributionthe Anderson Area map and Community Resource magazine/Chamber directory; media coverage and event press releases; ACTV coverage for events & programs; planning and supporting the distribution and sale of the annual Coupon Book and publicizing the General Membership meeting.

Technology

Anderon Area community event held the last week-end in July at Beech Acres. The Chamber partners with the Anderson Park District, Anderson Township Government and the Anderson Township Fireman's Association.

Community Recognition/Citizen of the Year Award Banquet
Annual community event recognizing the outstanding citizen, civic volunteers, businesses, educators and students of the year. Committee is responsible for organizing this popular event held in the Spring of the year.

The Chamber's annual Thanksgiving Breakfast held annually the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
Anderson Day at the Races
The Chamber partners with River Downs for this annual event for the community at River Downs held Labor Day week-end.
This event is coordinated by the Chamber staff.

Open to the Public. Held once a year - coordinated through the Education Committee.
