Parkside Christian Church sponsors famine relief food-packing event on Oct. 30

Twelve million people are facing a hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa.  Nearly half a million children are at risk of dying from malnutrition and disease.  On Sunday, October 30 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., everyone is invited to the Parkside Christian Church at 6986 Salem Rd., to join in a food packing event.  We will be assembling packets of vegetable meals that have been formulated to provide a rich source of easily digestible protein, carbohydrates, and vitamins needed by a malnourished child's body and mind. The packing goal is a minimum of 50,000 meals, and the food will be shipped to Kenya via Lifeline Christian Mission. Pallets will be handed off to a trusted Christian agency working in the drought-stricken area.
 

We can accommodate 100 volunteers on our assembly lines at any one time, and the public is invited to participate.  Come for any amount of time, and anyone, regardless of age, can join in.  This is a great Trick or Treat activity for families who want to teach their kids how to “treat” some children in desperate need.
