    About Us

Gentle Waves ISR provides specialized survival swim instruction for infants and toddlers across the Greater Cincinnati area, including Eastgate and Anderson Township.

Led by Certified Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) Instructor Amanda Ohmer, Gentle Waves goes beyond traditional swim lessons. We teach critical self-rescue skills, empowering children as young as 6 months old to survive in the water. Infants learn to roll to their backs and maintain a calm, sustained float, while toddlers learn the swim-float-swim sequence to independently reach the edge of a pool.

    The ISR Difference:
    • Individualized Instruction: Every lesson is strictly one-on-one, ensuring your child receives 100% of the instructor's focus.

    • Physiological Design: Lessons are just 10 minutes a day, 5 days a week, for 6 weeks. This "micro-lesson" structure matches how young children learn best—through safe, consistent repetition without physical fatigue or cognitive overload.

    • Rigorous Safety Protocols: Before entering the water, every student undergoes a medical review by a national team of pediatric professionals. Daily health is also closely monitored using the strict BUDS (Bowel, Urine, Diet, Sleep) protocol.

Whether you are preparing for a summer at the pool, a winter beach vacation, or simply want the peace of mind that comes with water safety, Gentle Waves ISR is here to help your little one build quiet confidence in the water.
